GROWING OUR OWN HEALTH PROFESSIONALS
At Blue Ridge AHEC, our goal is to connect students to health careers, professionals to communities, and communities to better health by improving the quality, education, supply, distribution and retention of a diverse healthcare workforce. We partner with local communities and educators to recruit students into health careers, assist students in health professions degree programs in gaining a quality educational experience, and provide continuing education for practicing health professionals in the region. Our goals are to:
RECRUIT: Educate community members about health career choices and recruit future health professionals
TRAIN: Facilitate post-graduate community-based clinical training experiences
RETAIN: Provide resources that assist and support health care professionals
